The Chief Medical Director ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi Dr. Muhammad Alkali had on Thursday April, 30th 2019 congratulated the newly elected leadership of the National Society of Critical Care Nurses of Nigeria ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi branch when they paid a courtesy call to the Management of the Hospital. He described the Society’s role in the health care service delivery as entical especially at this gruesome economic condition in the country. The Chief Medical Director urged the leadership to be proactive in discharging their responsibilities. In his address, the Chairman of the Society, Nurse Musa Abubakar who led the delegation, said they were in the CMD’s office to show appreciation to the Management of the Hospital over call duty allowances there members enjoy in the Hospital and to also request the Management to consider giving special allowances to Nurses working at the Critical Unit in the Hospital. He added that, the Society had invited a team of experts to come to the Hospital and give more training to the staff working in the critical care Unit in the Hospital in order to acquire more skills on how to carry out their duties effectively and efficiently. Other request by the society included: giving them the opportunity to attend various trainings at different levels, reduce the cost of charges at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Dependency Unit (HDU) for patients and provides essential equipment needed at the unit. He used the visit to inform the Management that, ATBUTH Bauchi has been selected at their last Annual General Meeting (AGM) to host the forth coming National Scientific Conference Workshop and AGM comes up from the 30th Sept. to 5th October 2019. He said the selection came as a result of the Hospital Management Commitment in Critical care Medicine. The Chairman therefore solicited the Management’s support to make the event a successful one.
